Dota Lod Ai is a map set in the Dota 2 world. It is styled to be similar to an overhead strategy game. The objective of the game is to command your hero around the map, capturing buildings and destroying enemies until your opponent's main building is destroyed. Dota Lod Ai features 3 playable factions with different treasures, heroes, buildings, etc. The goal of this map was to combine aspects of popular strategy games into one playable experience for players that love either DotA or strategy games in general. The map was designed with classic strategy game play in mind, not the fast action gameplay of DotA. As this is a commercial product, it is free to download. It was created by Kubofu Games, who are currently working on Dota Lod Ai v1.1.3 for release at some point in Summer 2012 or early Fall 2012. Dota Lod Aiy then became known as the "Useless Map" because at its peak it had about 50 bots playing on it and you could not get any info about them if you looked at the webpage . DOTA BOOM! took this as a challenge and ended up rebooting (endless mode) the map for over 100 bots . It was then renamed the "Anti-bot Map" by many people, but its name is still "Dota Lod Aiy". The map contains several modifications to the original DotA map. The most notable of these changes are:The owner of this map has opened it to the public and will be hosting a server 24/7 in order to allow players to play on it at their leisure. Following the release and success of Dota Lod Ai, Kubofu Games made an announcement that they would be creating a sequel. Kubofu Games have been hard at work on the new map and revealed several revisions to Lod Ai in their preview blog posts here: http://kubofu.co.cc/dota-lod-ai/preview-blog-20130315 The prequel to Lod Ai is called "Lod Aiy" which means "the small map", or simply "small". The original DotA map that was used was too large for the developer, so they opted for this smaller version of the map that will remain entirely canon with what has already been done in Lod Ai. The map is set in the same world as Lod Ai, but it changes several aspects of gameplay. The selection of heroes is the same for each faction. The map contains new buildings and has many new smaller roads throughout the map. The main difference in gameplay with Lod Ai is that player's can no longer capture buildings in search for treasure chests, instead they must kill non-player controlled creeps to gain gold and eventually they will be able to win by destroying their opponents final building.
