I've been a fan of Bollywood music for a while now, so I was excited when I saw this Band Baaja Baaraat DVD on sale. It's been great so far. Sure, the film is a little hard to follow and everything is in Hindi, but it's still really entertaining! All of the music is just awesome. The actress Ranjani has some truly stellar dance scenes that left me breathless! And there are also some great scenes with food that have left my mouth watering like crazy - I can't wait to make some of them at home! Anyway, if you're looking for something new and enjoyable (and don't mind subtitles) you should definitely check out this DVD. I give it two thumbs UP! The movie is about a girl called Tani who is the daughter of a poor music teacher and Dheer, who is the son of a rich and powerful business man. Their fathers are not happy with their relationship, so they decide to elope and get married. They go to Goa with Dheer's friends to celebrate their marriage. On the way Tani gets off the car to buy some ice cream and gets kidnapped by three people who want money from her father. The kidnappers call her father and tell him that they will keep Tani safe as long as he pays them Rs. 50 lakhs. Tani's father is unable to pay the amount, so he asks Dheer to get the money, which he does. But while bringing her back, Tani falls in love with one of the kidnappers, which complicates matters. The movie is released by Eros Entertainment. The soundtrack features 6 songs composed by Anand Raj Anand. The film was a critical and commercial success grossing about 100 crores worldwide. The film was seen as a departure from the usual masala films produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Aditya Chopra for Yash Raj Films. The film received mixed reviews from critics. Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave the movie 4 out of 5 stars and said, "On the whole, "Band Baaja Baaraat" works big time due to its honest and credible approach. It's a wholesome entertainer and comes highly recommended!" Sonia Chopra of Sify gave the film 2.5/5 stars: "Band Baaja Baarati is a fun, frothy caper that offers escapist entertainment. I wouldn't say it's an original romance; it borrows heavily from several films (and songs) we've seen before. However, the film still has zing and it entertains. It's worth a watch." BizAsia News (Sequel of Bollywood Hungama) gave the film 3/5 stars: "The music is okay, but nothing to rave about. It's not that it's bad, but there are better songs in the film. Though the film is more of a masala entertainer and I didn't find it all-encompassing every time I watched every song; overall, it's good fun for a good couple of hours." Komal Nahta gave the movie 3/5 stars: "Band Baaja Baarati is light on content and fare for which you expect such titles. cfa1e77820
